Baby is awake!! Now what?

OLDER and AWAKE babies can be daunting if you're used to posing sleepy and curly newborns.

I LOVE Older Newborns! I love awake newborns! I love the connection they have with their family, and I love capturing that!

To help those of you who are not sure how to create a FULL and DIVERSE gallery with beautiful images of an older newborn (and/or an awake newborn), I have created an ideal Guide for you!

In this Guide, I take you through my whole newborn FLOW and go over the POSES including babe alone, babe with each parent, with parents together, with family, and with sibling.

I show pull-backs, and explain how to position babe (and family).

I use my beanbag, my white wall/room, Moses Basket, and my real bed.

Printable cheat sheets come with this for quick reference.

BONUS: How To Nail Your Exposure and White Balance PDF

Example: Standing Back-lit flow:

4)  Standing Back-Lit – sleeper or swaddled

(pictures of each angle/capture in order accompany each set-up)

It does not matter which parent I start with.  If I start with dad, I put babe in his arms and have him stand on their profile.

Capture him on the full profile, then take a big step to the right and move on an arc around them to capture more angles.

Add the other parent in front with babe’s head under the second parent’s chin.

Go over the dad’s shoulder and capture babe looking at him.  Swap babe into the other parent’s arms and do it all again.

Peel dad away and capture mom with the same angles as dad.
